Interesting article, I sure hope people don't honestly believe that firearms are an investment option. Outside of very high dollar collectors pieces (no, not a Winchester 94 with a picture of John Wayne on it purchased from the Franklin Mint or a DU auction gun) its been proven that firearms don't keep up with the rate of inflation and do lose value.

I wish they went into more details as to what kind of guns were being purchased. The sales were pretty flat until 2004 when the assault weapon ban expired. One can only assume that the upswing in sales from 2004 onward was largely composed of black guns. All the more reason to not view AR's and other paramilitary guns as an investment.
