USC is going to have depth issues, but IF the JUCO acquisitions work out, they can be overcome.
We have the pieces in place to do some damage in conference and possibly even win it.
On offense, we need a "big back" to step up, and for Moody McNeil to stay healthy. McNeil is a Quizz Rodgers type, very small but shifty and fast as hell in the open field. You have to find him to hit him.
The running game is crucial for SC though, because a decent rushing attack will keep the defense honest, and that opens up the passing game which is where USC will kill you. There are several good WR's behind Woods and Lee, and they are no joke. The TE's are also very serviceable, and USC is famous for using the FB in the passing game.
The D line is a bit of a question mark, but we have almost all the LB's and the entire secondary returning on a Defense that grew up by season's end. It is a defense made to stop the pass, so my only concern is that we get a few "run stoppers" in to cement the DL instead of the pass rushers.
Special teams have improved a lot over the last few years; Pete Carroll never paid much attention to them, but Kyle Negrete(P) and Andre Heidari (K) are both very good at what they do.
Can't hardly wait.
