Eagles will likely finish 7-1 in the division and won't be going to the playoffs this year.

Was wondering if this has ever happened before?

Glad to see they give the Eagles 2 extra division games

In all seriousness though the Raiders went 6-0 last year in the AFC West and missed the playoffs.

Oakland last year had slipped my mind, and I just fudged the numbers on the record, but oh well. Honest mistake.

Unless I've totally missed some huge NFL rule changes:

4 divisional teams, 2 games x the other 3 teams in your division = 6 games.

Best the Eagles could have gone in their division this year if they had one loss is 5-1. That would make it quite easy for them to miss playoff games if they suck against the rest of their schedule.

Eta on iPhone didn't read rest of thread this whole thread is a fail.

I was about to mention the same thing, intentionally disregarding the thread title about the NFL.
