I read your other post about how this board is for discussion and while that's true, what could possibly leave any LSU fan wishing we played a different defense than our current defense? It's beyond comprehension to wish for something like that. Further, outside of this year, Louisiana produces very few linebacker prospects and far more defensive line prospects that changing to that formation makes even less sense. So discuss what you want, but there is no reason why any sane LSU fan would want a defensive change at this point.

you do not have a clue what you are talking about. usually a 3-4 is pretty much the same as a 4-3 one of the linebackers is always blitzing which makes him a de really. hightower and upshaw are both bigger than mingo and montgomery but play linebacker. the positions are interchangeable. the 3-4 is the same thing except ONE player plays three yards further back. we actually play many different formation like 4-2-5 dime and nickel so i guess there is a lot of defensive change going on. a 3-4 would just be another look.

The fact that we run primarily nickel further makes your argument terrible. We run so much nickel because we're light at linebacker. It's our worst position on the field. As such, we play towards our strength against teams that allow us that formation. Alabama's offensive attack will make us run more 4-3. But to indicate that it's just an easy switch to a 3-4 and how we're a nickel team just makes your entire analysis even more ridiculous. Yeah, let's make our weakness an even bigger focal point when our current formation is so dominant. Brilliant. GTFO.
