I haven't seen him going that high in every draft board. I think there is a chance he could be drafted as high/low as 3rd round, especially if he has a mediocre or bad NC game.

And nothing locks him into the draft until well after that. Reminds me of Zach Lee. Several people wanted to hate on him for signing, but any decent financial adviser would tell him he would be an idiot not to sign. You give up probably at least $1M and risk devastating injury by staying. If you get injured in the pros, at least you have medical and a contract to get you through the lean times.
