Btw most Of the time the scent isn't what spooks them. Deer are naturally curious animals. The scent just puts them on alert, which makes it easier for them to see you move. Movement is what makes them turn and run

Eta: this goes for slick heads, spikes and the likes not big ole pawpaws

Scent is 95% of hunting. Hunt the wind, and put everything scent-wise in your favor. Movement only matters if you've already passed the scent-check.
