I think the lack of water has changed this year substantially. All the brown ducks have gone to the coast where there is water and food since a lot of the early habitat was dry from Missouri southward. With the last two rains there suddenly is a ton of water in Arkansas spreading them out. Mallards haven't really pushed south in good numbers yet because it's been unseasonably warm in the upper midwest with no snow anywhere to speak of up there. I bet there will be some bird movement again on Saturday once the marsh in the West zone opens back up.
