I do believe that verse, yes. But, you are interpreting it wrong. It is saying that all things are going to be brought back to Christ, which they will. But, there are many other verses that say that at this point, He will judge all make determinations about their eternal future based on whether or not they have believed in Jesus and repented of their sin.
I am not trying to engage in a theological debate on other issues here. I just added in Colossians 1:17 because even if the "God Particle" is found, Scripture makes room for things like this to be observed. Many say that the claims of Science disprove Scripture, but if you read the Bible rightly, you find that there is much more room for the claims of science than many think.
Finding the "God Particle" would not disprove God, just like finding the "God Gene" in our DNA would not. The "God Gene" just might be the place of the soul. At any rate, Scripture talks about a man's spirit and soul.

It is called the Higgs Boson, or jokingly "the Champagne Bottle Boson." The only reason it is called the God Particle is because of the media and a book entitled "The God Particle: If the Universe is the Answer, What is the Question?". The book wasn't even supposed to be called that. It was supposed to be called the "Goddamn Particle," which, although I am not positive about this, I assume has to do with the fact that they cannot find this particle. It wasn't called that because the editor said no.
Seriously, do a little research and pay attention.

That's certainly true. It has the property of being boundlessly interpreted as allegorical each time science slices apart what once was held to be literal.

Maybe directing this conversation back to the OP, the results they are talking about are certainly not conclusive and are no where near being publishable. If they have reproducible results that make it pass the peer review process, I'll believe they have found the Higgs Boson, but until then I'm remaining skeptical...as all scientists should.

Nothing allegorical about the correct interpretation at all. Scripture is clear on how that should be interpreted if you read more than one verse and interpret it in the way you want to to serve your purposes.
Science has not sliced apart much of anything, actually. The answer is in the text itself. Of course, there has been no shortage of people holding up a couple of verses and saying, "Aha! This is what the Bible means!" while ignoring other verses that give a better interpretation. That has been happening for centuries. Humans are fallible and prideful that way. No real surprise there.

I read that too recently, but wasn't sure if the story was factually correct or not. It sounded implausible.
