Ponchartrain Poboys and Bear's are pretty good

Is Monster Po-Boys still there? They were always good back in the day.

To stay in main Mandeville, Pontchartrain Poboys is probably the best.

I like Triple Nickel close to the Castille Center.

I'd avoid Bear's unless you want to go to Old Covington. That location is the best poboy shop on the Northshore.

There is a Bear's in Mandeville unless you are saying you wouldn't hit that one up. Either way my vote would be for Bear's.

I agree, bear's on causway isn't great. Never made it to the covington location but I hear it's a world of difference between that one and every other one.

Mandeville Seafood does a good poboy. hwy 59 @ 1088.

Triple Nickel for burgers. Never had a poboy there.

Just hit the Po-Boy Shack for lunch today. Brand new place on the 190 service road right near Bears.

Not bad, but nothing special. RB was decent, juicy but almost no meat on the sandwich. Definitely getting the "double meat" option next time. Also, the place is cash only with an onsite ATM machine. Dressed means mayo, pickles and lettuce only. Additional dress options are free though.

Anyway, best Poboy option in Mandeville proper is Bears or Monster poboys (yes it's still there). Rag's on Hwy 22 near Beau Chene is a good one also.

I went to Bear's, it was closest to where I was at when I started the thread. Shrimp poboy was good. Place seemed clean, I had good service and my food came quickly. Place was really busy.

I'll be in the Mandeville area til the end of the month so I plan on trying the other options that were mentioned. Thanks everyone.

Mayas Cafe is the best deal in the area. Get the Maya or Aztec plate.
