At first I thought this was some sort of Schtick with you. Now I realize your are serious.
We all would like the #1 defense, but that is not SP's philosophy. This defense is coming together against the run. In years past, a good rushing team would give us fits. Hopefully this year when we face Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago or the NYG in the playoffs they will not be able to run it down our throats all day keeping our offense on the sidelines.
I'm still waiting for us to get our share of picks but maybe we used up all those in the SB year.
To the OP: My take away is that our run defense is steadily improving as is our running game. Combined with Drew's aerial attack, this is a recipe for success in the playoffs.
