I'm sure a lot is going on as these trades are getting done, but it just seems classless to let the media alert these players of their trades.

It's not that they're classless. It's just that the media knows about these deals before the deals are finalized. Not a lot you can do about it, unless you want the teams to notify a player every time he's been discussed in a trade possibility, which would be all the time.
