do any of yall use a propane heater in the deer stand (Coleman or any other brand)? does the smell bother the deer? - if they can smell it through the wind

Was wondering the same thing after reading someone had it going in the stand. Seems they would smell it down wind.

I use i small heater when i take my son if it's 30% or less and always try and hunt stands that are down wind from food plots. Never had a problem that i can remember cause most the time if its a shooter deer it never gets close enough to matter.

I've used the mr. Buddy propane heaters in box stands before. Had a mature buck come into the plot with it going. Its same smell as a Thermacell which I've used bow hunting and shot deer at 10 yds. Deer don't mind different smells. They mind human scent like B.O. more than unnatural scents

Well if the deer are downwind they are going to smell you anyway. So- hunt the wind, use your heater and you will not freeze your balls off.

Used one once. Couldn't get it lit right away and when it did I almost turned the stand into a bomb

I was reluctant at first, but I've killed several deer with the heater going.
