Aren't you splitting hairs here?
By definition..."Earning a starting position" is getting to the point where the coach "likes you over" the next guy.
This is CLM's decision to make and no one else...it's clear he's made it. LONG past time for people to accept that and move on.

When someone says someone else earned something, I tend to look at what that person did to earn it... can you point to what JJ did the supercedes what JL did this season that indicates he earned the job over LEE?
You are exactly right... however this isnt the same as saying JJ earned the job over JL.
Its not.
This is almost the same as people saying JJ has played great in bowl games... that's just not true.
He's played great in spurts in bowl games, and has played the same as he did last week vs uga in bowl games... yo uadd those together and it doesnt equal great.
