Glad to see they are getting the award back to its true purpose.
When Berwanger won it in the first year it was awrded, they called him a "one-man-gang", being head & shoulders a better playmaker than his contemporaries.
Only Griffin & Mathieu fit this description, and are being recognized as such.
Over the last 15 years, the Heisman has been given to "The Most Visible Player on a Title Contending team". Twenty-five years ago, that kind of non-sense would have eliminated Bo Jackson & his 8-4 team while the Heisman went to either Brian Bozworth of #1 Oklahoma or Mike Hammerstein of #2 Michigan.
