no it isn't. there wasn't a recognized alternate to the AP that was generally regarded as the main system for determining a champ.

that is a huge difference.

It doesn't matter what the alternative is. The AP championship is still the AP championship. You might think there is one better, but until we have a playoff, it is all subjective - especially this year.

The NCAA does not sanction any title game. It is all opinion. More computer polls has Oklahoma State ranked higher than Alabama. Oklahoma State had a better SOS, beat more ranked opponents, and had a better body of work. But, SUBJECTIVELY, voters said that Alabama passed the "eyeball test" and put Alabama in the game against a team that already beat them on their home field.

How is that authoritative? It is all subjective.

IF LSU loses and the AP crowns us champions, I'll take it.
