Yes and the outcry because of it is ridiculous. Every coach has their "guy". SOME lsu fans think this is a new concept.

Les thinks that JJ gives the best option to win the game according to the coaching plan that he has in mind.
If after 7 years you are unable to get past Les' coachspeak then you are only torturing yourself. The decision as evidenced by JJ starting since Bama is quite obvious.
When a mic is thrust into your face, you are not going to say that "Lee is now the backup forever" because
1. You don't know if you might change your game plan or if JJ gets injured.
2. It is harsh to say that (even if true) about any player when you can give a milder (if slightly untrue) reply.
