He's been pretty much money in bowl games. Was wondering if anybody had compiled his stats?

He was good last year, poor against Penn State (#inbeforeblamefield), and was good/poor vs GT (first half good, second poor)

LSU running game has been money in bowl games though and JJ being QB has benefitted from that

Why don't you just go to lsusports.net and look at the box scores from all his bowl games?

poor against Penn State

he was poor in the 1st half, good in the 2nd. and the running that day sucked throughout the game, much as it did all of the 09 season.

Thanks guys. Not great, not horrible. Decent numbers. JJ's going to be money in the Dome. I feel it.

Look at two winning bowl game, LSU ran for 288 vs A&M and 161 against GT, yet only 41 against Penn State.... If LSU can run they win, we all know that. In bowl bowl victories LSU eclipsed it's season average

I remember in 08 he played well in the 1st half.
The 2nd half was not good, we managed 3 points... JJ completed 2-3 passes for around 20 yards.

Pennstate, first half we had 5 punts on (5) 3 and outs and an int... we got a fg.

Ta&m JJ threw for around 150 yards.
However we rushed for almost 300.

Obv A&M was his best bowl game, but to say he "balls it out" at bowl games as ive heard mention just isnt true.

Second of all Alabama isnt gatech, pennstate or TA&m... by any means.

Qb play, regardless who is undder center is the least of our concerns.. dont turn it over, have solid OLINE, defnese and special teams play and we win... no diff from any other game we've played this season.

can you break that down by halfs or even qrters so we can get a true picture of how these games really went for JJ?
TIA.

Too much work, and it doesn't really matter.

Quarters/halves might be slow/skewed or have bad numbers if the coach changes his philosophy.

QBs and offenses can get cold, or a team might hold the ball for most of a quarter.

In my opinion, final scores matter; numbers for quarters and halves don't.

For example, we crushed Georgia Tech. Going into halftime, it was 35-3. Do you really think Miles is going to air it out during the second half? Is Jefferson going to have an opportunity to put up huge or even average numbers in the third and fourth quarters?

I'm looking for him to have a good game. The only thing that concerns me is his slow release and sometimes lack of awareness. But I trust that the coaching staff will make the necessary adjustments in order to make sure he and Jarrett are successful against a strong Alabama defense.

Amen!!!

This clift jumping mode some want to embrace cause of what happens in a quarter or half when the score ends up bout 40-10 for a season average is beyond silly. imo

actually, yeah. at least in that game. they went deep a few times in the 2nd half, the called back TD bomb to Lafell being one of em.

but as you said, different game situations can call for different playcalling. I chalked the deep throws with a big lead up to the coaches wanting to see him get some reps with the passing games. he'd only really played a game and a half prior to the bowl.

If you are going to say JJ has been great in bowl games then it absoultley matters.
That why it came up...never was about final scores.

He just better not lay an egg like the first half against jawjuh. We'll need his arm on 3rd down to keep their D on the field and ours off. Fresh legs in the 4th wins this game. Our depth helps, but not with the lopsided TOP we saw last week. Cant have that against Bama.
