Public Opinion only means something if you personally care about such things. Some people just look in the mirror and judge for themselves. There are countless LSU grads with highly successful careers making loads of $$ and lots of Harvard grads occupying - whatever. If you want an excellent degree and have a shot at success, LSU is as good as any. If you want to go to NYC and be a part of a prestigious law firm in hopes of being a Senator and ultimately President some day, go to Columbia (after you finish your undergrad at LSU!) - or come be a football legend at LSU. Either one will get you there. LSU is twice as large as Vanderbilt. I'd stack LSU's top 50% against Vanderbilt any day!
Now let's talk football. LSU That's all you need to say.

3 years into your first job as a graduate and no one cares where your degree was from nor what your gpa was... Too much is made of this.
