Which is exactly why they couldn't just tell the cops to bust down the door or something. Kevin would've ran whoever came through that door through the same torturous mechanisms. His blood lust knows no bounds. He will set booby traps until his hunger is satisfied.

That park probably has cops everywhere, he'd only have to bump into 1 and tell him what's going down.
