the 2011 LSU Fighting Tigers on the best season in history. It’s been an unbelievable year so for and LSU has a dominant team!

Now to something that is bothering me. I have always believed that Les Miles is a good man but I have always questioned his coaching. No doubt he is a winner and can recruit with the best of them but he has made some bone head decisions in the past. Now with the way he has treated Jarrett Lee over the last 3 games has me questioning the head coach’s character. I can’t understand how someone who has stuck with the program and contributed so much to LSU the last 2 seasons gets thrown to the back for someone who put the whole football program in jeopardy right before his senior season with so much riding on the season????? Jarrett Lee should have started every game this season no doubt and to be treated like the red headed step child really pisses me off. If JL struggles in a game then you replace him until then he has earned the spot but don’t start JJ after 1 bad quarter by JL because JJ hasn’t earned a thing. On Senior Night in Tiger Stadium the QB that has done everything asked of him, has stuck with the program for 5 years and has put his team in a position to win the National Championship only gets to hand the ball off after the game is pretty much over!!!! If I am JL that is a slap in the face! I know I am not at practice every day and can’t make the call like the coaches can but there is no doubt we win the last 3 games no matter which QB would have started. I am glad we are 12-0 and have enjoyed the season but would have enjoyed it a lot more if the deserving players were treated with some respect and this is why it has me questioning the head coach’s character. What are yall thoughts on how JL is being treated?

My father-in-law is a football coach at a high school here in MS and his opinion is that JL is getting screwed over and he would never recommend one of his players go to play for Les Miles after what he has seen JL go through. This is an outsider view of what is being said about the way Les Miles is treating his QB that took the team to 8-0 with one of the toughest schedules in the NCAA and then gets benched after 1 bad quarter. The opinion of a lot of folks here in MS is that Miles has rewarded the Thug and mistreated the guy who does right?

Head coaches job is to play who he thinks gives the team the best chance to win.

Im a major supporter for both of them because they have given us a ton of great play this year, but you can't really think poorly for Miles because he is playing the player he thinks will win us a championship.

What a novel question. I've never seen the issue discussed here.

not saying prejudices aren't everywhere, but everyone i met from MS, Alabama, or Georgia (during my time traveling for work) said the same thing but they used a unkind word to describe the guy playing QB currently and then said they would never play a "unkind word"

not saying this is the case here, but that was the feeling i got from all the people i talked to.

i want JL to play, I really do. I think he is a great kid with a lot of heart. but the guy whose neck is ultimately on the line feels his best chance at survival is with the guy I don't particularly care for. I think they are both on about the same skill level. JJ has the "run option" and i think JL makes better decisions throwing the ball (i know get off my back, some mistakes on both parts). JL may throw an interception every now and again, but JJ does take some unwarranted sacks. But we all need to support whomever the coach picks.12-0 and all but one buy more than 10 points. I like it, LET'S KEEP IT UP GUYS, GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Your father-in-law's opinion is no better than any other fan's.

Sorry to have to report it to you and your father-in-law, but this is big league college football where winning is the most important issue on the plate, not some individual player's feelings. Any decent football coach should understand that Les Miles is playing the QB in whom he has the most confidence... a very sane and smart thing to do. If Lee hasn't played as much as some of you would like it's the same reason Joe Schmoe is not playing... he hasn't sufficiently impressed the coach that matters.

Gee, what a pity.

oh here we go

stopped reading... enough with this, Miles can play who he wants, we don't know exactly what goes into coaching a major college team and exactly why he decides how he does, but if this year don't prove he is qualified to make these kinds of decisions, then nothing will.

Ihave always been on Les side but did lose a little respect for him when he did not put lee in the game sooner. Everyone is human and make mistakes.I still thank Les is a good person and coach.
