They obviously want a rematch and are downplaying osu's chances/worth to overtake Alabama should they beat OU next week.

I think Alabama is the number 2 team and should get a rematch, personally. I think they are the best competition out there.

But when does it become a conflict of interest for other schools involved, being that espn owns all the rights to all things bcs now and the fact that a majority of sec games are now shown on espn?

They don't show big12 games on espn.

Why wouldn't espn be pushing for the teams they already have contracts to show their games to also make the bcs, further propelling their ratings share over other teams?

Just all very weird how harmonious everyone is sounding over Bama being number 2.

With sports news though, there really isn't another all-reaching national audience source like espn. Sure you have the Internet and yahoo, etc, but let's be honest: no one has the outreach of espn.

ESPN is a business.

Like any good business, they want to put out the best product.

In terms of a BCS title matchup, the best product is a game involving the two best teams in all of college football.

Those two teams are LSU and Alabama.

Greed is good.

ESPN does basically control the BCS at this point. They have so much power.

Bama Alums at ESPN are spearheading this. It has been pretty pathetic how wrong Brad Edwards was all season trying to prop up Bama as #1 in the BCS all season and never being right. It is pathetic, but ESPN isn't journalism, it's propaganda.

They own college football now, agree its a conflict. However LSU Bama are best two teams, that's what BCS is supposed to end with in the championship game. Appears it will work again this year IMO.

Its extremely obvious that most of them are pushing for Bama. Brad Edwards wasn't trying to be objective and wouldn't even discuss the possibility of voters moving OK St above Bama. I think its time they bring new blood on those shows. Herbie and Saban have a great relationship and I believe that has a lot to do with him being so pro Bama. Same with James.

I usually don't prescribe to conspiracy theories but you couldn't watch BCS countdown and not notice it. James looked angry when it was suggested to look at the resumes of both teams.

If there is congressional involvement, this is where it should start. It is very clear that ESPN has way to much influence over CFB.

We benefitted from this in 2007 and we're allegedly even more of a lock than Bama, win or lose.

It is what it is.
