I think he will tone it down in The Dark Knight Rises. Something tells me that this one will be less about the supporting characters and more about Bruce Wayne/Batman. His voice in TDK aside, he didn't really have that much to work with in the last movie.

The goofy, hamfisted dialogue doesn't help him out any. Moreover, he's completely on cruise control.
