I knew before the season how it would go when moffitt said this was his strongest team ever and chavis said the fastest defense ever!
The spread defense. I like to think we have hybrid players. Kind of like a cross between what saban would recruit and what Meyer would recruit

Chavis is not getting enough praise, imho, but is ability to put together this "chameleon" defense. I think we all figured out he knew enough about x's and o's to be successful in the big boy league, but the physical attributes of the guy's he's recruited is uncommonly good.
Take the Alabama game for example. EVERYONE, me included, belived Bama's linebackers were much better than ours. Going into the game, I was very worried that our undersized linebackers would have trouble w/TR.
Bottom line - while Richadson was, inho, the best player on the field, our "undersized" linebackers did their part of keeping him contained.
On the other side of the ball, Alabama's huge LB's apparently had trouble running sideways on the field to cover the option, as Ford ran in successfully many times. There's no "scheming" per se to stop an option play. You just gotta be at the right place quicker. Alabama's linebackers couldn't apparently do that.
And for the Bama fans, , we outrushed y'all. Not by a yard or two either. We clearly were a better running team, and clearly had players that could do a better job in stopping the run.
