Excerpt from the insider article on ESPN. In summary, Brad Edwards has this to say:

"To sum it all up: We're an Oklahoma State loss and a Stanford loss away from likely having LSU and Bama ranked No. 1 and No. 2 -- again. That could theoretically happen as soon as next week, if the Ducks take out the Cardinal and Texas Tech surprises the Cowboys."

Thats his two cents and odds of this happening are as good as can be

That's possible.

This is not. Texas Tech is coming off of two blowout loses. One of which was to Iowa State.

rematch

I just don't see how the winner of the game Saturday would be effectively punished for winning by having to play another game (SEC Championship) against another quality opponent while the loser would just get to win three games to get a rematch. It's one thing if it was a three point LSU win in Baton Rouge, but for Alabama to lose at home and then get a easier road just seem unfair.

Not gonna happen. Although, I agree it's not fair to LSU for this to happen, the real reason we won't see a rematch is the rest of the country will not want to see an all SEC championship game. The voters will make sure someone else gets in above Bama.

We might get a rematch, but it should not happen. Here is why;
College football is great because the regular season matters. When was the last time any body cared about a regular season NCAA basketball game. As imperfect as it is..the regular season IS the playoff, and it makes the games great. Is Bama the second best team? They probably are, but if they get to the NCG against LSU, they will have gotten there losing to LSU at home and not playing an SEC championship game, so they would have had an easier path. At least if you are going to have a losers bracket...make it harder than the winners bracket.
I was on the record before the game as being against a rematch regardless. I stand by it.

However it happens, we need to make it to the SECCG. We might need it.

He's wrong often. He's a Bama graduate.

Assuming OK St. loses to OU and Stanford loses to Oregon the following match ups would all make more sense than a rematch between LSU and Alabama.

LSU vs OU - OU would have beaten #2 OK St. at the end of the year.

LSU vs Boise St- It might just come down to voters saying " We already know LSU is better than Bama, because THEY BEAT THEM ALREADY AT THEIR PLACE. Let's give Boise a shot."

LSU vs Oregon- If they beat Stanford and win their conference championship they will have:
1. lost to the same team Bama lost to but earlier in the year
2. lost to the same team Bama lost to but at a neutral site
3. actually beat another top 5 BCS team
4. played in a conference championship game
5.won their conference

Logically this would all of the above would trump Bama one would think.

Bama sitting at home on their asses and not having to play in a conference championship, Penn State losing some games, and Arky getting bumped out of the top 10 in the BCS should also not help their case.
