What he did was an emotional heat of the moment bad judgement play that did cause the team yardage.
But it was not worse than any other Late Hit or other personal foul.
Does not mean we condone it - merely that we should use that as a reference and treat it as such and not make a mountain out of a molehill.

It wasn't even a late hit, or a personal foul. It was a holding call for half the distance to the goal line. That means it was less than 10 yard penalty. Excluding the yardage from the return. And if TM doesn't hold on that play OBJ could have easily been lit up and fumbled resulting in a TD for Bama.
There are times when pass interferance is "ok" because the cornerback lost his WR and the play will result in a TD, why would a hold here not be considered in the same light?
Also I don't see the connection between running his mouth and holding. Maybe he does jaw too much, but he didn't get flagged for that, or for a personal foul or anything, it was a HOLD people.
