And why didn't we use it till they stopped it?

Even if we didnt' move the ball at all, Alleman's kick would've been good from 45 yards.

But I'm glad for the play....super glad.

we lulled them to sleep by not using it, and then hit them with it when they didn't expect it.

Saturday was the BEST I have ever seen Jefferson run the option.

He didn't belly it, he didn't keep the ball when he should have pitched...He attacked his read, and pitched when they crashed.

Nice job JJ.

I started a thread about this last night, and I'm w/the OP.

Would have never thought anyone would run on Alabama's edge.

GREAT fullback blocking/great decision making by JJ on those plays.

Absolutely - JJ kicked arse! (no pun intended. seriously). Great decision-making and timing.

option to the short side has its advantages. We actually had good success with it under Jimbo, too. What's important is the blocking on the edge. We did a good job with it Sat night.

I understand the advantages of the option, but it still scares the hell out of me. So much can go wrong. I was terrified that they would call it again at before kicking the last field goal.
