Notes:
-5 carries over 4 yards (73 yards)
-18 carries of 4 yards or less (15 yards)
-TR had 35 yards on 12 carries in the 2nd half. That's 2.9 yards a carry. Out of those 12 carries, three were over 2 yards (3, 9, 24), the other 9 carries were 2 yards or less (-6, -4, 0, 0, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2).

I'm not saying that I wouldn't. But, outside of 5 carries, we shut his butt down. He absolutely schooled us on those 5 carries though.

I think he was showing more of a positive towards our defense then a slight on Trent Richardson.

Absolutely. Richardson had a few carries that got them in field goal range. Outside of those great, great carries, LSU completely dominated him.

What are yall are failing to look at was his total production, which he did very well against our defense. I think he had like 169 total yards. What he didn't get in the running game, he got in the passing game. His total yards were impressive to me considering the type of defense he was up against.

Well, yeah. We essentially let him run out of the back field wide open on passing plays and he got 80 yards receiving. That was more of a scheme issue. I'm not sure why, but we chose to not have a player spy on him during passing plays.

You're right, but at the same time, I think the OP is just pointing out the job this defense did vs. the run.

We knew he would break a couple long runs and he did. But as a whole, LSU stuffed him most of the game.

If I would have told you that Alabama would have held Alabama under 100 total yards on the ground before the game, what would you have said?

I'm not sure what stats you were looking at, but he had 23 CAR for 89 YDS

that we win. If someone told you that Lee would complete 3 passes for 24 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs and Ware would have 29 yards rushing, what would you have said?

well, technically 88 according to the actual play by play stats. he had 5 carries for 73 yards. On his other 18 carries, he only managed 15 yards.

So why are you negating the 5 carries for 73? Those are still missed tackles/assignments.

Not only did we beat Bama, but we took away a second Heisman winner

I'm not. Those were absolutely great runs by TR. But, he didn't consistently run the ball successfully on us. He had 5 great runs out of 23. The rest were for 4 yards or less. It is just extremely impressive that our defense beat their running game more times than not in this game. We consistently gave them nothing, and they broke a few.

LSU did a great job on him but Trent is still a bull. He's amazing.

I have to agree. Before the game I thought we was being hyped up, but after watching our Defense tackle where he used to be, I have to admit he is one helluva back.

Absolutely. He is the best back in the country. but, out of 23 carries, we beat him on 18 of them. That is freakin' fantastic for playing a RB of that caliber.

You don't "spy" a RB. You have assignments in the passing games for all available receivers. But that's not really "spying", like you would a Michael Vick or Vince Young (college versions). In cases like that, you pull someone out of his standard assignment to watch the player, not to rush the pass or drop into coverage like you would on typical pass plays.

TR being open was missed assignments.
