We've been running 2 deep on defense almost all year long. That makes sure your back-ups are ready.
I'd like to point out that this has driven us crazy in the past. Against UNC we put a bunch of youngsters in at DB in the 2nd half and almost got burned. Those guys are now the best defensive backfield in the country.
