Did Wing's punt hit the TV wire?

How would it hitting the wire affect his ability to get to it? Wouldn't that help him bc it was stop the ball from traveling farther? Seems like he's trying to save face.

exactly..hitting the wire didnt make the punt go farther...it slowed it down...
