I ushered in section 2 lower south endzone from '66 to '68. We were the section that always had the visitors.
I remember an ole miss game were the OM cheerleaders handed out hundreds of rebel flags during the second quarter. We were sitting on the first row and one of the scouts got one. He reached into his pocket for his lighter (no he didn't smoke, he was just prepared in case we needed to start a campfire). Anyway, he set the rebel flag on fire. Some drunk rebel fan (I guess that's redundant) came down the aisle and opened two big cans of cheap beer and poured them on the scout. The scoutmaster who was coming down the aisle behind him to tell the kid to put it out asked the drunk why he did that. The drunk turned around and punched the scoutmaster in the face. A dozen state troopers appeared from no where, drug the drunk ole miss fan over the concrete wall and bushes onto the field, and off to a patrol car for a trip to parish lock up. We watched the rest of the game from a friendlier section.

I still have those football-shaped passes - those were the days - getting in to LSU games for free and great seats, too.
