With the recent success (98-08), media love Texas gets and their past recruiting rankings it's easy for people that don't follow closely to assume Texas is better Thsnksgiving they are this year.
But if you watch them they are horribly low on talent. The media says they are just so young but they have more Sr and Jr starters than almost all of the B12. It's just on offense the most visible players are young (Brown, McCoy, Shipley, Ash).
But that begs the question. How does a team with top 5 recruiting classes every year get so young??

quote:It's no secret that Mack is a lazy arse on the recruiting front. Maybe it has more to do with the development of talent? Seems like other schools are doing fine with players from Texas.

I'd like to see some proof of this. I know I heard they had over 20 freshmen getting regular playing time.

A few busts here and there, bad coaching, and some players leaving early for the NFL can all hurt.
