Of the entire list I'd say either Sin City or Superman 2 got the shaft. I thought it was kind of widely accepted that Superman 2 was quite a bit better than the first.

While I think it should certainly be higher than the original, I'm still not a big fan of it.

I really liked Thor, but putting it ahead of The Crow, Sin City, and Superman 2 is just retarded.

Same goes for putting Watchmen ahead of 300, The Crow, Superman 2 and Sin City

What are you using to judge these movies?

I'm just going by which ones I like the most, which ones I enjoyed the most. Watchmen wouldn't fall in the top 10 for me. Ten better movies to me are:

1. The Dark Knight
2. Batman Begins
3. Iron Man
4. Mask of the Phantasm
5. X-Men: First Class
6. Sin City
7. Spider-Man 2
8. A History of Violence
9. 300
10. Superman

The ones I listed above aren't necessarily in any certain order. Some of the ones I listed could drop out of the top 10, so maybe Watchmen could sneak in my list, but I still definitely don't see it being close to 1.

I think Sin City is a great movie. Even if you took out Alba pole dancing... but it does greatly improve it.

I personally didn't care for Batman Begins. I guess its a good origin story but it just gets sloppy with the train fight and gassed criminals.

I'm glad to see Blade get a little love... It actually re-shaped the comics.

Yeah, I forgot about Blade. That's a good one, especially the fight scene at the beginning.

I think MotP did a better job with the origin story. BB its pretty much set that this guy is going to become Batman. He doesn't have much conflict reaching the point of becoming Batman. MotP gives him a choice though on whether or not to become Batman, and he chooses not to become Batman, but is in the end very much forced to do so. It makes the tragedy of the character that much more complex.

Another big problem with BB is Alfred pretty much goes with it and doesn't question anything or try to steer Bruce in a different direction from loneliness, depression, and vengance. He just merely questions him when he drives the Batmobile to quickly. Alfred should have gone with Bruce highly, highly reluctantly and pleaded with him throughout the film not to go through with his plans. MotP did this and Alfred is very much horrified on what has consumed the person he basically raised himself.

I loved MotP! I thought it was an original story still keeping the Batman mythos. It's also probably one of the best movies as far as how the Joker is portrayed. It's a perfect blend of fun, demented, and sinister. My son calls it Batman vs. Darth Vader (Actually, I would like to see that)

I am hoping somebady picks up the local comic Chew to do a sort of HBO spawn like cartoon.

Mark Hamill, the guy who portrays the animated form of the Joker, is actually Darth Vader's son. And yes, Hamill is indesputably the definitive Joker. He can be both very sinister and very funny. Heath's Joker extremely violent and murderous, but wasn't really funny. He was fun to be sure, but not funny. He could never put someone in a false sense of security before he went in for the kill like Hamill's could. Jack's was the exact opposite. He was funny, but not really frightening or unsettling. Make him watch "Return of the Joker" as well.

I kige this. The first three do exactly what they are supposed to do very perfectly. Jack is just Jack though, just a tad bit goofier. Those three it wasn't just completely obvious who the actor is behind the make-up/illustration. Jack it was.

This movie was mediocre, don't know how it made a Top 25 list for anything.

Dude. Heath redefined the Joker. It's really not close.

Heath's a sign of the times man. He's a great Joker, no doubt, but he's not the true essence of the character. I mean pretty much all the Joker's usual weapons are out of the picture with Heath's, aside from guns, knives, and crowbars. Hamill's can adapt to pretty much any situation and is truly timeless. You can see him holding two boats hostage waiting for them to blow the other up or poison make up of everyone in town just so they die with a smile on their face. Can't see Jack or Heath's Joker doing both those things. In 40 years, directors and writers will be looking at Hamill's interpretation as the true essence, not Ledger's. If you read the comics, Ledger's interpretation doesn't really fit that much. It's easy to imagine Hamill's voice on the page though.

I think Heath did what he was supposed to. He was supposed to be a different Joker, not the one that Hamill portrays. At the same time, Hamail does a perfect job at what he's supposed to do.

This is very true. Whenever I'm reading and Joker comes up, his voice is what I imagine in my head.

Completely agreed. Ledger's Joker is exactly what he needed to be and was thus pretty perfect. They're both perfect incarnations of the type of character they were supposed to portray. Note I'm not saying that Hamill is undebatably the best Joker, I'm just saying he is the true essence of the character. You can certainly make a strong case for Ledger being a better and more threatening villain than Hamill ever was and is probably the most sinister and frightening the character has ever been, but for me getting the true essence makes it the definitive version. Missing Joker's gag items and standard appearance (and note these are not bad things) just take away from the overall essence of the history of the character.

I found Ledgers Joker to be funny on occasions.

The "magic trick" scene was awesome/funny. And when he busted in on the party and took the champagne glass, tossed the champagne out, then proceeded to take a sip... I thought that was pretty great. I mean its seems typical to say but I think his is by far the best Joker.

Edit: The scenes were he was dressed as a nurse also had a few funny moments. The more i think about it, I feel like he was a very balanced character.

Watchmen and Mask of the Phantasm should be top 10, Superman II is too low.

Never seend History of Violence or Road to Perdition so I can't judge those. Captain America is too high and Superman is wayyyyyy to high. I think that movie is pretty boring actually and the second is easily better.

Also, 89 Batman and X-Men should be on this list somewhere.
