I think this is an excellent comparison. In the 90's it was the annual Spurrier/Bowden matchup. I can't think of 2 other programs with entrenched coaches whose game is as anticipated as LSU/Alabama is year in and year out. Stoops and Mac are probably a distant second.
This will become the biggest coaching matchup ever surpassing Woody/Bo if Saban stays around.

and its much more about the game than it was back in 2007.
