"I would see [Peyton] competing and playing as long as he wanted. And if it gets to the point to where, hey, he comes back and it looks like he's gonna play three or four more years, and you say, 'We've got Andrew Luck, we've got an asset, we trade [Peyton]. I think that asset is too much to pass up, even if your quarterback wasn't all that happy about it."

Dungy has no respect for his former head coach

I agree somewhat. If they get Luck they should politely tell Peyton he has two more years and after that he can retire or get traded.

He must be crazy. Look how it turned out for the niners when they got rid of montana in favor of young...and when green bay opted for rodgers over favre...this plan always backfires.

Why is it crazy? It's basically what the packers did and that kinda worked out.

Young was drafted in 84 and traded to the 49ers in 87. He didn't start until 1991. Rodgers was drafted in 2005 and didn't start until 2008.

I'm sure most people would be fine with Peyton playing another 3 years until he's 38-39

I would think it would be great to tutor Luck under the greatest game manager/coach/QB of all-time. Sure, Luck sits for a couple years, but then he will have incredible tutoring plus his incredible skill and talent.

This would be the logical thing to do. But how do they ask Peyton to go after 2-3 years.

They cut him. Ronnie lott ended his career as a jet. Jerry rice spent time in denver and seattle...its just kind of how it goes.

There is also speculation that Manning may not ever return due to the health concerns.

If he does return, the guaranteed money he is owed may not allow them to pick up Luck.
