The logical repsonse would be, "Was there a problem with Lee at QB that needed to be fixed by inserting Jefferson?"

Could it be argued that Lee as the starter needs to get as many reps as possible reading defenses, interpreting coverages, & getting comfortable in that role?

I think that we only pulled Jefferson when he played worse than dogsh!t last year, and yet we pull Lee out after a run-run-pass series where we're blown up on 1st & 2nd down. When Jefferson goes in, he's immediately given vertical pass routes early in his series.

I've seen some disparity in playcalling options that could-by those with the right mindset-be used to construe that playcalling helped dictate a less successful drive which meant the explanation for inserting Jefferson was more easily made afterward.

One could also point to Miles' strange explanation for Jefferson starting the 2nd half in Knoxville by saying the decision was made easier since we were pinned at the 1 yard line & he gives us better options there. Which while most agree with as a practical matter, most would also wonder why he neglected to mention that wasn't when Jefferson went in...it was the drive prior to that to start the half where we started with excellent field position.

This insertion and usage of Jordan is nothing like Miles prior substitution patterns. Quite inconsistent in fact.

Then again, when Jordan goes in Miles states that "he has the whole playbook" when in reality JJ's thrown 4 passes. One of which was an orchestrated jump-pass against UF. So saying that is again somewhat disingenuous.

The truth is Miles has favorites like any coach, and for several years Jordan has been Miles' favorite. Again, as a practical matter getting Jordan reps helps keep JJ's mental focus where it needs to be. As well as improves team morale while also being productive in terms of on-field performance.

The ancillary benefit of making LSU more multiple for future defensive schemes against our offense is welcome as well.

I think there's a method with Miles. I like some of the motivations behind it. Others I think are simply Miles being like any coach on the planet. They like certain players. Just happens.

That's just my $0.02 on the matter.
