Freshmen were ineligible, the season was shorter, he split time with Paul Lyons, and they ran the ball a lot.

That was the 70's, and coached by Charlie Mac. They were primarily a run team, and Coach Mac did have a 2 quarterback system.

Only played varsity for 3 years (freshmen were ineligible then). And then when he did play, he split time for two years w/ Buddy Lee and Paul Lyons. The job wasn't Bert's alone until he was a senior.
