This defense is still vulnerable to power running games.

I would love to see LSU employ a 5 man front with 3 DTs and 2 DEs (Mingo,Montgomery) against Bama and get Hatcher the hell outta there on running downs. Force TR to have to run outside and have faith in our DBs to take care of business if they pass.

And what evidence do you have to support this random thought???

There are a few ways to stop the run.

First, be bigger and better at the point of attack (line of scrimmage). If your Dline can penetrate, the runs will stop.

Second, (and this one youve seen every week by every team that plays LSU). Stack the box with more people. Tenn. suffocated our run game in the first half (60 yds). BUT, if you are going to do this strategy, your secondary better be able to play SOLID Man-to-Man Coverage. This is where other teams have failed and where LSU will not.

So even if strategy #1 doesnt work for us, expect alot of #2.
