and why its ran by assinine idiots. (redundant.. I know)
According to the Big East by laws, Notre Dame, who does not play football in the conference can be selected to replace a football team in a bowl game. That in itself sucks, but most college football fans knew of this. What most dont is this..

Why the f**k should Notre Lame have ANY say so in football. Just another reason teams should want out instead of in.

On Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) matters, the Conference’s position will be determined by a vote of the
eight BIG EAST institutions that are members of The BIG EAST Football Conference and Notre Dame (nine
total votes).

because we have a contract with your bum conference to play 18 games vs. BE schools from 2011 to 2016.

The Big East would die without Notre Dame's role, that's why (I mean, it even looks like it could die WITH ND, which is saying a lot).

Because they're pretty much in your conference.

By contract ND was required to try to play 4 games vs Big East teams.
in return ND gets to play as BIG EAST in hoops, and all sports except Hockey, in which they are in a midwestern Hockey league.
So they are sort of in the Big East, generally and even football wise.
They get a BiG east football bowl game as noted, and they play Pitt and UCONN and are supposed to get up to 4 by and by.

BC moved to the ACC on them.
Air Force and NAVY are threatening to join the Big East.
