Nice park and the cabins are great. We rented two cabins about a month ago. Fishing did not look very favorable. Very shallow water. Saw a few people standing out waist deep fishing that said they never got a bite.
We brought some some crab traps for the kids and they caught a few. Only caught 4 crabs There are deer everywhere. We probably saw 20-25 during the weekend.

They built a new pier by the beach a few years back, i would walk out on that and try your luck with some dead shrimp on the bottom. This is your best chance to get bites.
If you are adventurous you can wade fish and cast top waters, plastics, popping cork/shrimp...etc along the shore lines. The bottom is mainly sandy so wading isn't much of an issue. Water shoes will help but you can bare foot it.
I would go in with limited expectations.
