They were far better than the 1970's. There were 3 winning seasons in the '80s 1987, 1988 and 1989 and an 8-8 in 1983. 1990 was 8-8 and lead to the early 1990's success. Far better for those who had to put up with 2,3,4,and 5 win seasons during the 1970's.

With Drew Brees and Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis, all is looking well for now. I just dread what "might" happen when Drew is done and Sean Payton retires and moves on. But for now, it is an exciting time to follow the Saints.

Every NFL organization experiences cycles. I am just glad I was alive to see the Saints win a Superbowl.
