I get the same feeling. The state and the players feel like a bunch of regrets, knowing they have no respect and big schools (like LSU) never recruited them out of high school. Hence they always have a chip on their shoulder.

I think a lot of the trash talking was initiated by their players, who are under the misguided notion that talking shite somehow enabled them to negate the skill/talent disparity on the field.

It is a shame for them to be honest. All in all, they are a good team with a passionate fanbase. Unfortunately, due to geography (and other issues), they are at a disadvantage to make the next step. There is always the Pitt, UVA, Ohio St., VT nearby to take away recruits, exposure, TV$$. I do wish them well and hope they win the Big East.
