Playoffs are not the issue

Really? The source of the investigation is a group called Playoff PAC. I'm sure all they are invested in good clean government and the fact that this corruption involves a BCS bowl is purely a coincidence.

The issue is possible corruption withing the bowl's organization and mismanagement of funds

and the individuals involved should be punished if found guilty.

Real sports and others will try and use this to paint the whole bowl system as corrupt, but what it should show to everyone is corruption is inevitable when people use the government for doleing out favors.

You seem to be hellbent on an argument.

To clarify, I agree, Real Sports and the Playoff PAC have agendas, no doubt. My point is that the IRS will not care. Like myself, they aren't opponents/proponents of either the bowl system or a playoff. They will only be concerned with the possibility of illegal distribution of funds by bowl employees. That's where the trouble will start.

I agree, though its the bowl officals that will be in trouble, not the Sugar Bowl itself
