Why have the Tigers not gone to the no-huddle and

big signs to call the formations and plays on the sidelines. Should improve their clock management and time outs because of terrible clock management that kills drives.
They are fast and can run down the opposition by the end of the 2nd quarter. Just a thought!

Has time management really been a problem this year? I haven't thought so, but maybe I have been watching the wrong game.
Sure we have used a couple of timeouts to make sure the right play/right personnel, or Lee sees something and takes a TO, but I think it would be idiotic to go to this. Our offense is about controlling the clock. Why can't people see this, accept this, and win with this. A 19-6 win is the same as a 49-21 win. Both count the same, and both are just as dominant. Just two different ways to do it.

Did you watch the UO game? LSU went no huddle against UO and clicked off plays faster than they did.
The real question is, why haven't they done it since. It worked against UO. This was on the last drive of the 1st half, when LSU crammed it into the end zone regaining the momentum.

Clock management is not a problem with this team. Say what you want about the play clock running down, but it wasn't a problem in the first two games, and this was our first SEC road game.
Also, yeah, lets run a no huddle. I'm sure our defense would appreciate not being able to catch their breath if the offense turns it over or goes 3 and out.
There's no need...LSU's offense is one of ball control and a power running game. We're never going to be a flashy spread offense. Just accept it. It will increase your enjoyment of the games.

We are two deep on D. Should be a problem!

quote:I agree with you on this, but hey...it was effective against UO when we were having trouble scoring. It also sped up the process of wearing down their defensive line. That's the goal this season, so might as well speed it up.

Them not going no huddle probably ha to do with their gameplan being a 'eat up clock & run down your throat' method.

gimmick offense is gimmicky

It's sad what little attention some of our fans pay to the game. Does nobody realize we have already successfully run the no huddle this season??

Exactly. We've beaten the no-huddle, hurry-up team at its own game. We've beaten the defensive stalwart at its own game. We've beaten the unstoppable running team at its own game.
That's LSU's key: beat a team at its own game.

I think we should do this on defense.

These quick no huddle spread offenses are better suited for high powered offenses who need to score quick and often to win. Grinding it and controlling the ball is much better suited to our style of play.

Juat a thought Forel. Have you ever been to a LSU Basketball game and noticed the assistant coach to the left of Trent Johnson with the placards flashing the formations and plays to the basketball team. Wait, how many have they won in the last two years. May not be a good idea.

quote:FWIW, I pretty much agree with everything in this. If we went to the stupid placards and 100% no huddle, I'm pretty sure I'd puke.

However, all I'm saying is...in a couple of series against UO, when we had been struggling to move the ball, it worked like a charm.
And again, my main point is that it's sad that this question is even being asked by an LSU fan on an LSU board. Think about it...

Um...they have. Pay attention, people!!

I like our PRO-STYLE talent, with our pro-style offense. Those boards on the side-lines look extremely tacky. Oregon and MSU should have spent more time implementing the game plan, rather than taking time off to come up with FLASH CARD ideas.
