You won't have to worry if your son wears a 25 like you.

Thats awful to hear. I hate to hear this when it's somebody just playing the game they love. Prayers out to their family, friends, team, and students.

People on the SECr seem to be saying he broke his neck.
fricking tragic. This and the 16-year old dying on his way to opening night of the BRLT play. Terrible day.

Was hit on the driver's door in a little Honda by a pickup as he made a left turn onto Greenwell Springs Road.

Thoughts & prayers.
I shared my son's 10 years of youth football, 2 middle school, 4 high school, 4 college & a year in Europe playing the game we love. As a parent, that's a risk we are all aware of, but never talk about.
This young man passed pursuing his passion. May we all be half as fortunate.
God's speed son.

A D’Iberville High School football player died tonight after being stricken during a game at Gautier. Latrell Dunbar, a junior running back, died at Ocean Springs Hospital, said D’Iberville coach Buddy Singleton. Singleton said Dunbar collapsed during the third quarter while returning to the huddle after a play on which he did not carry the ball. Singleton said Dunbar was treated on the field and then transported to the hospital. “They did everything possible,” said Singleton, 70. “I’ve been in this a long time and I have always feared something like this would happen. He was a great kid.” Play was stopped while Dunbar was taken off the field. Singleton said the players voted during the game to continue playing. D’Iberville won the game, 17-14. The players were told after the game that their teammate had died. “It’s unreal right now,” Singleton said in a cell phone interview from the school. “We have some pastors in there and a lot of people. The victory didn’t mean anything.”
