rented by an AD employee...Driven by a now-suspended cornerback...who was pulled over doing 118mph...and who they have on tape at the scene...who was asked if they had any weed...and who answered, "We smoked it all,"...

But he's all set to play in the game on 9/3?

The car wasn't rented by an AD employee to start off with. DT denies smoking the weed. So you have DT riding in a car with a player who was driving 18? And you think that warrants suspension?

Guilty by association buddy, or do you not believe in that concept?

Well thats great, because nothing in his past would suggest he would have been smoking the weed......................oh wait...

In Louisiana that would be considered an accessory to a crime (possession of a controlled substance) - which I think is a felony.

Actually 'DT' said that he smoked weed earlier. Therefore he is guilty. I really don't care, though. I would love to beat Oregon full strength...

Why is the question of who rented the car not being answered? Screw the weed - whose name and signature was on the rental contract?

What makes this comical to me is that if this had happened in Louisiana, the driver would have been arrested for suspicion of DWI, the car would have been searched, and everyone in the car probably would have been arrested for possession of marijuana because, if they were smking in the car, then the officer would have found a tiny bit of weed. I'm not saying that it should have happened that way, I am just illustrating the difference between law enforcement here and law enforcement there. Either way, this is not that big of a deal. Football players were partying and should be allowed to play. The driver should have been arrested for going so fast but that should be the end of it. NCAA investigation not needed.

Any Oregon Fan

Why is it when D. Thomas ends up in a car with Oregon players, at least two things happen:

1) Weed will be present.
2) Traffic violations will occur.

quote:

Thomas also was a passenger in the car on June 7, 2010, when Jeremiah Masoli was stopped in Springfield and cited for exiting a driveway without stopping, possesion of one ounce or less of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. Masoli was dismissed from the team shortly afterward for that and previous incidents.

Before that, on Sept. 25, 2008, Thomas was a passenger in a car driven by Eddie Pleasant that was involved in a speed-racing crash in Springfield that sent two teammates to a hospital. Thomas, then a freshman, suffered a bruised elbow on his right throwing arm when he rode in the front passenger seat of a Ford Mustang driven by teammate Eddie Pleasant. Pleasant, then a redshirt freshman linebacker, was cited by Springfield police for reckless driving and speed racing. Jamere Holland, then a sophomore receiver who would later be dismissed from the team for an unrelated incident, was the other passenger.

Louisiana and Oregon are just really different.

The player would have absolutely been arrested/suspended down here.

Nothing against the state of Oregon. It's just different up there.
