I was a sophomore and in the student section. The crowd was loud and electric, but not the most I ever saw. (ND 1971 takes that honor - I was not at USC 79). Late afternoon start may have been a factor. It was the first game for a new Mike.

Domingue did knife someone after the game - a driver in traffic outside of a bar. He's reborn and a minister now, and he talks about it a bit on his web site. I don't have a link handy.
