I did a lot of research on plasmas yesterday and found out that I had been hearing a lot of misinformation. They last 10 years with normal use, and the image burn-in problem hasn't been much of an issue for a long time. As far as picture quality, plasmas and LCDs are very different, but taking everything into account they are about even or the plasma has a slight edge.

I bought a 51" Samsung 1080p plasma 3D TV with 600 HZ refresh rate yesterday on Amazon for $999 with free shipping/no tax; they have a special promotion where it comes with 2 free pairs of 3D glasses.

plasmas give you more bang for you buck than LCD when it comes to screen size


i bought LED mainly i didnt like the heat that plasmas give off, and the way i was mounting it, i didnt want a really heavy tv, which plasmas generally are
