First of all, I would like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with Coach Kragthorpe and his family... I can't imagine going through what they've been through in the last few years.

With that said, I don't see why LSU doesn't vigorously pursue Charlie Weis and Brian Harsin. I know money is tight, but with this unexpected setback occurring, I think it would definitely be worth the big bucks to lure one of these two OC's to BR.

I know that we would have to let an assistant go due to the staff limit, but I don't see how keeping Krags on as QB coach as well as one of these two as the main playcaller would not be worth letting a lesser assistant go.

Thoughts?

Weiss just went to Florida while Harsin is at Texas. Why would either jump ship without coaching a single game at their respective schools?

Weis? He's a really strong offensive coach, just wasn't cut out to be a HC. Common occurrence.

Or as an NFL coordinator?

It isn't going to happen.

I'm not trying to come across as a jerk, it just won't happen.

I am with you 100% on wishing Kragthorpe well. Let's get ready to kick some duck arse!

I agree.

With that being said, WHY HAVEN'T WE CONTACTED URBAN MEYER??? Every single coach in the country must have LSU listed as their dream job!!!

(not serious)

Well I've always been a more pro-style guy, and more importantly, so is CLM. But even more importantly, it's much too late in the game for JJ to master CUM's Spread/Option, and the two next QB's in line are dropbacks.

I'm curious to know how you think we can pull any of these guys from Florida and Texas. Both are top coaching destinations and both have richer athletic departments than LSU. The money that will be required to get either one of these guys will be Gus Malzahn money.

Propose to Chicken at next admin meeting that a drug test be used for all new posters.

What if we just hired Spurrier or maybe Belichick will leave the Patriots.

The OP is a dumb idea, but this is NOT the reason why.

Weis will not come, he has a very good job that is new

Plus, it will be hard to pull someone right now this close to the season, An OC that left now would be a slap in the face to Head Coach and School

I could very well see Coach K coming back to OC duties next year, depending on how well he is. Stud, would get the title of OC and get picked up by someone else as an OC or a small schools HC.
