I can't believe how you don't get this. It takes an AD 10 seconds to think, "Ok, in 2018, we have four B1G home games and five B1G away games. Let's make sure not to have an away OOC game that year." Presto.

In Iowa's case, they are locked into playing Iowa St every year. So they would be hindered by scheduling a home and home with a major BCS team, like they have with Arizona recently.
