LSU's REAL rival from the East was actually Kentucky. Before the SEC split into divisions, LSU had played Kentucky more than any other "new" Eastern Division school, including Florida and Georgia.

First of all, KY WAS LSU's "permanent rival" from the East, along with UF. The sandy vagina crowd got them to change in 2003 to only having one permanent cross-division rival and KY was dropped in favor of UF. But from 1992-2002 both UF and UK were LSU's cross-division rivals.

Also, I'm counting 38 games vs UF from 1937-1991 compared to 42 games vs KY in the same time span.

42 vs 38.

I mean, really. That's not that big a difference. Both UF and UK were on the Tiger's schedule almost every year from 1950-1991.
